What We Teach

  • We teach the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, inerrant, sufficient and authoritative in all matters of faith, life, and godliness.
  • We teach there is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We teach Jesus Christ is fully man and fully God. Born of a virgin, perfectly righteous in life, who willingly and freely chose to die a substitutionary death on the cross for the atonement of sin. He was buried and after three days rose from the dead, conquering sin and death. He ascended to heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God, from where He will return to judge the living and the dead.
  • We teach all men are sinners, falling short of the glory of God, and all need salvation from sin and its consequences.
  • We teach that salvation is by God’s grace alone, through the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit at the preaching of the gospel, producing repentance in response to godly sorrow, and newness of life upon faith in Jesus Christ.
  • We teach every believer is sealed and indwelt by the Holy Spirit and thus able and expected to walk in newness of life in Christ, producing increasing Christlikeness.
  • We teach the Holy Spirit is sovereign in the bestowing of all His spiritual gifts for the perfecting of the saints and the edification of the church. Most spiritual gifts are given for use throughout the entire church age, while the sign gifts were bestowed specifically to authenticate the Gospel message and its messengers. Following the completion of the Canon, the Word of God became self-authenticating, and the sign gifts have temporarily ceased to be in operation.
  • We teach in the universal church whereby all true believers are united through faith in Christ according to the truth of God’s Word.
  • We teach the local church is a local expression of the universal church. The local church is not a building, but the people of God gathered to praise Him, pray, preach the Word, practice the one-another commands in love, and proclaim the Gospel to the community around them.
  • We teach the spiritual oversight of the local church is entrusted to a plurality of biblically qualified elders. They are to shepherd the flock of God and are accountable to the Lord, the Chief Shepherd.
  • We teach in the future resurrection of those who have died, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to eternal punishment.
  • We teach in rapture of the church and the second bodily coming of Jesus Christ to set up a literal kingdom on earth which will last one thousand years and will be followed by the eternal state and the new heavens and earth.
